Welcome to The Due Date Club

The best place to be when you're pregnant.

How amazing would it feel to be instantly connected to a circle of women who are due in the same month as you?

The Due Date Club brings pregnant people from all backgrounds together to explore the daily physical, mental and emotional changes and challenges of every stage of pregnancy  in a safe, nurturing and inclusive space.

The secret sauce is circles. Circles of women all due in the same month. Circles of mentors sharing wisdom and expertise. Circles of support.

Get the latest evidence based information through talks, interviews, courses and collaborative group or 1:1 learning opportunities.

In The Due Date Club we support and encourage each other to develop the skills and confidence you need to make informed choices for yourselves and your babies, and in doing so forming life long friendships based on shared experience

The only requirement to join The Due Date Club is a Positive Pregnancy Test and a desire to connect.

Is this you?

You are so excited about being pregnant and you want to do everything right. You are spending hours searching online for the right information but instead of finding answers you are feeling increasingly overwhelmed and anxious. You can't stop yourself from reading horror stories and you can't stop thinking about "what if something goes wrong?"

While a fear of the unknown is completely normal, worrying about things going wrong is futile if you don't understand what it feels like when they're going right.

In The Due Date Club you will learn about the many miracles that are occurring every day as your pregnancy progresses and how they feel. If this is your first pregnancy, everything feels different and slightly scary so even normal symptoms can be worrying. Right now you are probably wondering:

  • Are the symptoms I am experiencing normal for this stage or is something wrong?
  • Will my baby be OK? How will I know? What tests can I have to be sure?
  • What happens if I start spotting?  What does it mean?

Collaborative Learning

In the Due Date Club all the information you need is organised by week and you will be prompted to enter your due month when you join, so that you get the Right Information exactly when you need it.

We understand that the information you need is time sensitive and constantly changing, because the nature of pregnancy is dynamic. So, the things you need to know at 6 weeks are different to what you need to know at 12 weeks, 24 weeks, 36 weeks or 40 weeks.  Every week brings new changes, new sensations and new concerns. You sigh in relief when the nausea stops but wake up the next day with heartburn or backache or leg cramps.

Dedicated Conversation Space

The Due Date Club is liking having your favourite coffee shop open 24/7 and only pregnant people and birth professionals are allowed in. You can move from one table to the next until you find the chat you want to join and sign up to attend live events and online courses. It really is that easy.

Being in community with like minded people experiencing the same symptoms at the same time, somehow normalises it and puts your mind at ease. Of course, all groups are moderated by The Virtual Midwife, Karen Wilmot and her team of medical experts and birth professionals, so for every symptom you share, you can expect feedback on the science as well as weekly updates and courses that explain everything so well you will almost be looking forward to your next symptom to appear!

This is the basis of the life long friendships that are formed through shared experience. The Due Date Club enables you to instantly connect and chat with women who are asking the same questions and available 24/7 to talk about pregnancy, birth and babies.

And the best part? It looks and feels like a Facebook group but without the ads, hates speech, trolls, and creepy lurkers!

Here's Something Else you May Not Realise

In a normal  pregnancy you will see your Doctor an average of 12 times in 40 weeks. Even if every appointment is one hour (and you know that the average is 15 minutes, right? ) you will still only spend 12 hours of face to face time with your main care provider.

What about the thousands of hours between appointments?

You don't want to spend precious time worrying and anxious.

Pregnancy is meant to be celebrated and enjoyed.

Every milestone, all the highs and even the low points are important and will be remembered.

In The Due Date Club we make them memorable TOGETHER!

What makes The Due Date Club different?

The Due Date Club is liking having your favourite coffee shop open 24/7 and only pregnant people and birth professionals are allowed in. You can move from one table to the next until you find the chat you want to join and sign up to attend live events and online courses. It really is that easy.

Founded and led by The Virtual Midwife, Karen Wilmot, the Due Date Club is the result of years of working online and in person with women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period as a midwife, prenatal yoga instructor, hypnobirthing practitioner and childbirth educator.

"It drives me crazy that birth preparation classes only start at 28 weeks and most doctors advise you not to get excited until you get past 12 weeks. The truth is that from the moment you see that little blue line YOU ARE PREGNANT.  It's only natural that you want to be connected with other pregnant women. You are infused with curiosity and a desire to do everything you can to nurture and protect your baby. Thats what you get in The Due Date Club "

"I've been a midwife for 30 years and I have watched trends come and go, seen birth practices change, witnessed the shift in expectations and sat in awe of advancing technology. But even so, nothing about the physiology of birth has changed and I always knew there had to be a better way to offer real deep dive antenatal preparation that went beyond a weekend workshop or an online on demand course. I knew I had to create a COMMUNITY because this is where true learning happens through shared experience and connection.

Do I have to sign up for my whole pregnancy?

Membership is monthly and you can cancel at any time. Pregnancy is dynamic and each week brings new sensations, challenges and questions. We make sure that you are plugged into the right resources so that you can make healthy choices for you and your baby by sharing the right Information at the right time.

I am already 18 weeks pregnant - is it too late to join?

While we recommend joining as soon as you get a positive pregnancy test to get the full benefit of the program, you can join at any stage of your pregnancy. You will go straight into the group of your due month and you will have access to all the videos and sessions that you missed, which you can work through in your own time. However the big benefit lies in being able to participate in time specific activities that the Due Date Club offers and get the answers you need about what to expect at the stage of pregnancy you are, and beyond.

I have a high risk pregnancy - can I still join?

Absolutely! The focus of the program is on guiding you to optimise your health and wellbeing which is even more pertinent if you have a high risk pregnancy.

I had IVF and have been told I will need a cesarian birth - is this program for me?

Definitely! The Due Date Club is so much more than a birth preparation class. This is a space of connection, community and ongoing learning about the fascinating and miraculous changes as your pregnancy progresses.

You will also love the section on learning to connect and communicate with your unborn baby which enhances your pregnancy experience and bonding in the early days after birth.

Is the focus on natural birth?

The program is designed to give you all the information you need to make the right choice for you, your partner and your baby, whether that is natural birth or surgical birth. You will be guided to ask the right questions and understand the implications of the choices that are available. The course is balanced and holistic and provides you with medical options as well as alternative and complimentary therapies.

Is hypnobirthing included in The Due Date Club?

Yes, absolutely. Breathing and mindfulness techniques are introduced from the beginning and you will learn powerful techniques to harness the power of your mind. There is a very strong focus on the "head, heart and hands" approach and you will be guided to access your innate knowing and trust your intuition through journalling and dream work.

I am having an elective cesarian, do I still need this?

Absolutely you need it. Your birth is a moment in time and you will still be pregnant for 9 months. You will experience the same highs, lows and challenges and you need to optimise your health and wellbeing. The Due Date Club is a safe and non judgmental place to connect and share as you learn and prepare for life with baby.

Why I started The Due Date Club

Because I always knew there was something missing from my courses. They are packed with a ton of content but as much as online and on demand is a great way to learn, it lacks the feedback and the ability to ask questions.

The Due Date Club enables  consistent and collaborative learning. Dive into a module and then pop out and ask a question before moving on to the next section. Learn something new and then share it with others in the activity feed.

Most of your learning happens in conversation. The Due Date Club is liking having your favorite coffee shop open 24/7 and only pregnant people and birth professionals are allowed in. You can move from one table to the next until you find the chat you want to join. It really is that easy.

I also know that the current technocratic, policy based system does not support or encourage you to be actively involved in decisions that directly influence your health and the health of your baby.

This program seeks to restore the balance and equip you with the skills and confidence to be an active participant in this major life event, understanding that pregnancy and birth have a lifelong impact and are bound to sexuality, fertility and the ability to parent with confidence.

What happens after the birth of my baby?

By this time you will have formed deep friendships within the group and you will have the option to renew your membership to have continued professional support with The Right Information at The Right Time.

Every week with your newborn brings a new challenge and you will be guided through feeding, sleeping and everything in between by Midwife Karen and her team of postpartum specialists.
